Knox Léon & Vivienne Marcheline were born
via caesarean section on July 12, 2008 in
Nice, France. Knox was first to arrive at
6:27 pm and a minute later, his sister
followed. Just like the first pregnancy of
mom Angie and birth with big sister Shiloh,
the twin's arrival was also met with crazy
media attention. First is the unveiling of
the baby bump at the Independent Spirit
Awards and then the endless speculation if
it's twins or not to the confirmation of
Jack Black on national TV. The twins, still
inside mommy's belly, practically
accompanied mom in the whirlwind Cannes
promotion of her movies. Their birth is not
short of a grand premiere either. Their baby
photos, together with the rest of the
family, were unveiled in a special issue of
People, which is worth millions of dollars.
The highest to date.
In the accompanying article, the proud
parents explained the origins of the names.
Knox as Brad said is a family name, his
grandfather's. Léon is a French name they
like which ties him up with his birth place.
Vivienne is the name that first came to
them. Viv, as she is lovingly called, also
gets to be named after Angie's beloved late
mother, Marcheline. Angie herself can't wait
for Viv to grow up and tell her stories
about her grandma and what an amazing woman
she was.
And it's very obvious that the twins, well,
are like mini-Brad and mini-Angie. Brad
said, "He kinda
looks like me and she kinda looks like
Angie." And the similarities
doesn't stop on the physicality. Knox takes
after his dad in serenity, "calm and likes
music." Like his dad. Viv meanwhile has her
mom's "spirit and attitude." Viv also got a
bit of elegance from her mother but a little
too "demanding"
when it came to feeding time.
As Angie shot her film, 'The Tourist' in
Venice, Italy, we were treated to almost
daily photos of the twins and they are
nothing short of adorable. Knox seemed like
the cool, calm kid while Viv is clearly the
Mommy's Girl, almost throwing a tantrum once
just to be in Mommy's arms.
These two are still too small to know the
impact they have and the attention they
would receive but the good thing is they
have a very solid and warm family around
them to keep them grounded. - JPO |
